Aqua Envy is the premier pond cleaning company in the Chicagoland area performing the highest quality pond cleaning all season long. A pond cleaning is the first step in guaranteeing a healthy pond ecosystem.
Why Do You Need A Pond Cleaning?
After the long winter there will be decaying organic matter from leaves and other vegetation that will be at the bottom of your pond. As the snow melts and the temperatures rise that decaying waste will cause algae to take over your pond or water feature. Aqua Envy Ponds recommends a full spring pond cleaning be performed yearly. This allows you to enjoy the true beauty of the pond and give you peace of mind knowing your fish are happy and healthy.
The first step is to drain down the pond and remove all fish. We carefully place any fish in a holding tank with original pond water, an aerator, and a net, for the remainder of the cleaning process. All filter mats and lava rock will be rinsed with the remaining pond water at this time. Any large debris will be taken out by hand and any plants will be trimmed and fertilized. The rocks and gravel will be power washed, then rinsed down with hose water and pumped out until clean. The skimmer and biofalls will be cleaned out as well. Any pond lights will be checked and readjusted at the bottom of the pond. Exposed pond liner will be covered with gravel and any fallen rocks will be put back. We then refill the pond with some of the filtered old pond water and additional tap water with water balance and beneficial bacteria to make it fish safe before reintroducing fish.
A pond cleaning is the perfect time to determine the state of your pond and the best time for work to get done or scheduled. Scheduling a cleaning is extremely easy and quotes are based on the size of the pond and location.
